A family owned, operated, and focused bike shop in northern New Hampshire
Since 2011 The Spoke ‘n’ Word: Bicycle Repair & Advice has been serving the needs of local & visiting riders (and snowshoers) with knowledge, service, and parts.

Offerings
We don’t have a large assortment of talents, but we try to make good use of what we have been given. Below is an overview of what we put forth for your consideration.
Repairs ($-$$$)
Road, mountain, or BMX; Single speed or geared; Steel, aluminum, Ti, bamboo, or carbon; One of many, or your prized possession–we work on them all with care and attention to detail.
Advice ($0)
While intended to be focused on bicycle related questions where you could use some guidance, we have an opinion on most everything, so feel free to ask for advice, but you only get to choose the topic and I get to choose the duration of the response.
Retail ($-$$$$)
We have a substantial collection of goodies to keep you rolling, or start you on your cycling journey. We are pleased to offer new and used bikes from Scott Sports, Reid Bicycles, and others, as well as parts and accessories from major manufacturers and distributors.
Group Rides ($0)
Seeking to meet the needs of everyone we have offered family focused rides, winter fat-tire rides, road rides, gravel adventures, and mountain bike excursions. Our focus is more on the people than the ride and try to cultivate a positive and healthy environment where people can thrive and stay safe on the roads and trails.
Snowshoe Hikes ($0)
Seeking to make good use of the winter months and our local community forest, we offer weekly snowshoe hikes in season as weather permits. Geared as a social event, not a cardiovascular showcase, we generally cover 1.5-2 miles in about 90 minutes on average. Kid friendly, dog friendly, and plenty of regroups (some with snacks!)
Trail work ($0)
While in addition to the bike shop we also have a trail building business, Damascus Road Trails, we also lead our local club and area residents who like physical labor in the woods in developing a network of trails in the Colebrook Community Forest.
The people are more important than the ride
In a pursuit to serve as many people as we can, we offer an assortment of activities to get people involved in their community with healthy activities.
