Regularly scheduled group rides are lead through the summer months with some additional rides popping up on holidays and weekends.

-Casual Road Rides

Mondays @ 5:30 from The Spoke ‘n’ Word parking lot*. Typically a pace in the low to mid-teens with a “no drop” policy. Expect ride lengths to vary, but to average around 20 miles. Some excursions onto dirt roads will be offered and announced in advance.

-Trail Ride (and maintenance)

Tuesdays @ 5:30 from the Colebrook Community Forest parking lot. Years past have largely been dedicated to building trails, but these days we look to hook up for some actual riding–nothing helps to keep trails in great shape better than riding them! There will be set trail work days to further develop the network and upkeep what is here, but Tuesdays will be dedicated to riding as long as people come to ride!

-Up tempo Road Rides

Thursdays @ 5:30 from The Spoke ‘n’ Word parking lot*. Typically averaging around 20 mph and typically travelling about 30 miles–some evenings upwards of 45 miles though. While we advertise a pace of 20mph, we are very willing to slow the average down on hilly rides, or to accommodate others that can hang at 17+ mph so that the group can be bigger. We desire to be a “no drop” group, but if you can’t hang at 17 mph then the Casual Road Rides would be a better fit. The last Thursday of each month will be a “gravel road ride” where as normally we are exclusively pavement or dirt roads in better shape than our average paved roads.

-Specialty Rides

It is common practice for the club or a member of the club to host a holiday ride on Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day. We also often concoct a few other adventures through the summer, so watch Facebook for posts on the “Cycle North” Facebook page as well as “The Spoke ‘n’ Word” page. Winter months and weekends often see the fat bikes and mountain bikes adventuring away from the Colebrook Community Forest to wider horizons, if that is your style then we love good company.

**Time and location of rides may vary on occasion based on weather and an attempt to increase variety. If you aren’t a regular club rider but plan to show up (which we would love!!) then it may be worth checking in in advance to make sure that we aren’t at a satellite location.
